Chinese contemporary painting on 3-ply rice paper
16.5 x 24.5″, unframed
With its mouth wide open, Mr Duck is shocked that his body just wouldn’t go yellow, like in many cartoon drawings. He also wonders why he does not have the features of a “real” duck. What is he? Black duck? Or a black living being? Or a black monster? Whatever! So long as Mr Duck is happy the way he is, why should he bother? Rarer and more precious, distinctive yet stylish, quirky yet playful, was he the ancestor of ducks? Will he lead the duck revolution and evolution? Oh mine! My dream of being the special and outstanding one!
